About Us

Our Goals

  • To improve the nutrition of the homebound elderly and disabled by providing delicious meals that meet 1/3 of the USDA requirements five times a week and frozen meals on weekends.
  • To promote independence and dignity to the homebound elderly and disabled by allowing them to remain in their homes longer.
  • To have volunteers serve as gatekeepers to our clients who are often isolated and do not have daily contact with anyone other than the Meals on Wheels Volunteer.

Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels has been serving our elderly and disabled neighbors for 32 years.

We serve 20,000 meals per month in our home-delivered meal program and 15 Silver Cafés where seniors who are able can come together and enjoy a meal and social interaction.

Volunteers provide a daily check on the well-being of our meal recipients, helping to obtain timely assistance in the case of a medical emergency. Many times, our volunteer is the only human contact the client has on a daily basis. 300 volunteers donate their time, gas, and compassion.

We deliver meals throughout Spokane County, including Spokane Valley, Spokane, Liberty Lake, Deer Park, and Cheney.
